⑴ High-pressure gas cylinder filling
Low-temperature liquid storage tanks serve as the gas supply source for filling high-pressure cylinders, making them well suited to the needs of numerous dispersed and sporadic gas users; such operations are generally required to be carried out in a standardized manner by specialized filling enterprises. In accordance with current national administrative licensing requirements, filling enterprises must hold a Fixed-Location Production (Storage) Approval for Hazardous Chemicals, a Safety Production License, and a Cylinder Filling License—collectively referred to as “one approval and two licenses”—before they may engage in high-pressure cylinder filling. At the liquid outlet of the low-temperature liquid storage tank, a cryogenic liquid pump and a high-pressure vaporizer are installed, and a high-pressure filling system is used to charge high-pressure gas into dedicated cylinders. The cylinder-filling process must include an automatic shutdown protection system for pipeline cryogenic conditions and overpressure. When cryogenic liquid remains at the vaporizer outlet or when the pipeline pressure exceeds the cylinder’s maximum working pressure, the cryogenic liquid pump shall automatically shut down and the low-temperature liquid storage tank shall cease gas supply, thereby preventing direct charging of cryogenic liquid into the cylinder or overpressure during cylinder filling that could lead to an explosion.
⑵ Repackaging of cryogenic insulated cylinders:
From the liquid outlet of the cryogenic storage tank, the cryogenic liquid is directly dispensed into specialized small containers such as cryogenic insulated cylinders, utilizing the storage pressure within the tank; this method is suitable for relatively independent, large-scale users. During dispensing into cryogenic insulated cylinders, if the cylinder is equipped with a vent valve, the valve shall be opened to relieve pressure. During dispensing, operators must stand to the side and avoid prolonged exposure near the liquid outlet or vent opening. If piping or valves become frozen during the process, they should be thawed using hot water at approximately 70°C; electric heating or forceful hammering is strictly prohibited. The dispensing area must maintain adequate ventilation to prevent the accumulation of cryogenic liquids or gases.
⑶ Centralized gas supply via pipeline network:
From the liquid outlet of the cryogenic storage tank, a low-pressure cryogenic vaporizer and a terminal pipeline regulation system are connected, followed by a gas distribution network, enabling centralized supply to a large area or multiple users. Based on the gas consumption requirements of the distribution network and the desired operating pressure, the terminal pipeline regulation system adjusts and boosts the pressure to the set working pressure, then delivers the gas at a stable, constant pressure to meet the centralized gas demand of the area. The cryogenic liquid in the transport vehicle must always maintain a sufficient inventory to ensure that its containment vessel remains at cryogenic temperatures, thereby keeping the gas supply system operating under low-pressure, constant conditions.
⑷ Low-temperature liquid spray supply:
Low-temperature liquid storage tanks are used to directly supply cryogenic liquids—typically liquid nitrogen—via cryogenic piping to external objects for on-site spray cooling, supporting cryogenic processing applications such as cryogenic grinding and rapid food freezing. When integrating low-temperature liquid storage tanks with cryogenic spray systems, the distance between the two should be minimized to shorten the length of the cryogenic piping and reduce losses of cryogenic cooling capacity. Cryogenic liquid transport pipelines must be equipped with thermal insulation and moisture-proofing measures; common solutions include vacuum-insulated piping or the use of polyurethane foam insulation materials with superior thermal performance, externally clad with galvanized steel sheeting at pipe connections.
