Suzhou LNG storage tank manufacturer explains the pressure-regulation process for LNG storage tanks.

First, Suzhou LNG storage tank manufacturer —According to CIMC Sanctum, the LNG storage tank pressure-regulation process refers to the operation of adjusting the saturated vapor pressure of LNG within the storage tank prior to fueling LNG-powered vehicles. This process can be carried out using either a submersible pump-based pressure-regulation method or another approach. Next, we will also discuss the pressure-regulation procedures for LNG storage tanks. As the Suzhou LNG storage-tank manufacturer explains, there are primarily two methods: submersible-pump-based pressure regulation and self-pressurization-based pressure regulation. Please refer to the following analysis.

 Suzhou LNG storage tank manufacturer
(1) Pressure-regulation process using a submersible pump: LNG liquid flows from the outlet of the LNG storage tank into the submersible pump, where it is pressurized and then fed into the booster vaporizer for vaporization. The vaporized natural gas is returned via the tank’s vapor-phase pipeline to the vapor space of the LNG storage tank, thereby regulating the tank pressure. When a submersible pump is used for tank pressure regulation, the inlet pressure of the booster vaporizer equals the pump’s outlet pressure; for the TC34 submersible pump manufactured by a U.S. company, the maximum outlet pressure is typically set at 1.2 MPa, while the booster vaporizer’s outlet pressure corresponds to the tank’s vapor-phase pressure, which is approximately 0.6 MPa. Since the booster vaporizer’s inlet pressure is significantly higher than its outlet pressure, using a submersible pump for pressure regulation results in rapid response, short regulation time, and high pressure levels.
(2) Self-pressurization pressure-regulation process: LNG liquid flows directly from the outlet of the LNG storage tank into the booster vaporizer for vaporization. The vaporized gas then returns via the tank’s vapor line to the vapor space of the LNG storage tank, thereby regulating the tank pressure. According to the Suzhou LNG storage tank manufacturer, when this pressure-regulation method is employed, the inlet pressure of the booster vaporizer equals the pre-regulation vapor-phase pressure in the LNG storage tank plus the hydrostatic pressure exerted by the liquid column within the tank (approximately 0.01 MPa when a 30 m³ tank is fully filled), while the outlet pressure is the tank’s vapor-phase pressure (about 0.6 MPa). Consequently, the self-pressurization pressure-regulation process features a slow regulation rate and low pressure levels.
