Nearly 250 Million! CIMC Sanctum Wins Bid for Natural Gas Peak-Shaving Storage Facility Project

This natural gas peak-shaving storage project is divided into Phase I and Phase II, with construction scheduled to commence in June of this year and completion and commissioning expected by June of next year. The project primarily comprises a complete set of LNG liquefaction plant equipment and associated installation services, featuring a purification capacity of 100 × 10^4 Nm³/d, a liquefaction capacity of 100 × 10^4 Nm³/d, and a storage capacity of 29,000 m³.
The project covers an area of 166.2 mu and is designed to process 1 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, supported by a 29,000-cubic-meter storage tank equipped with one core piece of equipment from CIMC Sanctum. The stored natural gas can meet the local community’s emergency demand for approximately three days. This storage tank is an externally mounted, flexible-seal, three-layer-walled, all-metal full-containment tank, incorporating technology that is protected by independent intellectual property rights. In 2022, this technology was certified as “domestically leading” by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, demonstrating that even in the event of a leak, the product achieves near-zero evaporation, zero loss, and zero emissions, thereby significantly enhancing both its economic efficiency and safety.
Ju Xiaofeng, Deputy General Manager of CIMC Enric and Head of the Energy Equipment and Engineering Business Center, stated: “China’s current energy supply and demand are somewhat misaligned, and the country’s overall gas storage capacity remains insufficient. In the face of economic recovery and steadily growing energy demand, local governments are accelerating the expansion of LNG storage infrastructure to ensure a stable natural gas supply during the winter and to build up adequate emergency peak-shaving capacity. This successful bid once again underscores CIMC Enric’s industry-leading expertise in the LNG engineering sector. We will continue to provide customers with comprehensive, energy-saving, and efficiency-enhancing solutions, thereby supporting the construction of critical public-service projects in the LNG field.”
