CIMC Sanctum | 700 Days in Daqing Upholding the Spirit of the Iron Man

On May 8, 2025, the Daqing Beituo Integrated Natural Gas Utilization and Emergency Storage Peak-Shaving Project, under general contracting by CIMC Sanctum, officially held its commissioning ceremony. Located in Zhaoyuan County, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, the project boasts a total investment exceeding RMB 500 million. On the day of the ceremony, General Manager Xu Zhiquan, Deputy General Managers Cheng Xiongbo and He Jiangshan attended the event. The project encompasses a natural gas purification, liquefaction, and helium extraction facility with a daily processing capacity of 1 million cubic meters, a 30,000-cubic-meter LNG storage tank, and associated supporting infrastructure, achieving an annual LNG production capacity of 100,000 tons and thereby helping to establish a clean-energy storage and peak-shaving hub for Northeast China.

Looking back over the more than 700 days since we first engaged with the client through to project completion, every step has represented a significant breakthrough. In March 2023, the Sanctum team, demonstrating exceptional sincerity and professional expertise, initiated discussions with the client, marking the official start of our collaboration. The client conducted an on-site inspection, gaining firsthand insight into Sanctum’s two-decade-plus track record of technological innovation and deep industry expertise in cryogenic equipment. Subsequently, senior management from both companies made multiple visits to the client site to thoroughly understand their needs and jointly refine the details of the partnership. After six months of relentless effort, the two parties successfully signed the contract, paving the way for the commencement of construction.

In the face of challenges such as extremely cold winter construction and equipment commissioning, we put forward practical and convenient recommendations, including an “amine solution caustic washing optimization plan” and “dynamic adjustment of compressor pressure,” always going the extra mile for our clients to ensure zero schedule delays. By the end of April 2025, the entire project was completed, and after round-the-clock efforts, the moment of success finally arrived.
